According to the data, the global installed capacity of power lithium-ion batteries in October was 26.2GWh, a significant decrease of 20.4 percent compared with September. From January to October, the global installed capacity of power lithium-ion batteries was 216.2GWh, a month-on-month increase of 10.6 percent .




The top 10 companies in the list are CATL, LG, Panasonic, BYD, SKI, Samsung SDI, Guoxuan Hi-Tech, AVIC Lithium, Honeycomb Energy, and Yiwei Lithium. Chinese companies account for 6 seats, and CATL is the only one. The installed capacity is more than one-third of the total installed capacity.




Back in China, the installed capacity of power lithium-ion batteries in my country reached 15.4GWh in October, a year-on-year increase of 162.8 percent and a month-on-month decrease of 1.8 percent . The top ten companies are CATL, BYD, Guoxuan Hi-Tech, AVIC Lithium, Tafel, Yiwei Lithium, Honeycomb Energy, Sunwangda, Ruipu Energy, and Funeng Technology. The domestic installed capacity in October accounted for 92.9 percent of the share.




Orders are concentrated to the head company




Whether it is a domestic list or an international list, the most obvious phenomenon is the huge gap between the Ningde era, BYD and the companies behind them. Resources and orders are being concentrated in the leading companies in this field, leaving less and less time and space for other battery companies. How not to be eliminated by the market gradually becomes their first priority. questions to think about.




The top two companies on the list do so in very different ways. It is understood that Ningde era has reached battery supply cooperation with a number of domestic and foreign car companies, including Ford, Mercedes-Benz, BMW and other traditional automotive industry giants. The new energy transformation of the automotive industry has brought greater opportunities to Ningde era. This also means that it will be the leader of the power lithium-ion battery company for a long time.




BYD is more inclined to internal digestion. In the just-ended November, BYD's entire passenger car series sold 97,242 units, of which new energy models sold 90,121 units. This figure alone has surpassed the combined sales of new energy products of car companies such as "Weixiaoli" and "North and South Volkswagen", and there is still an upward trend, which has brought enough demand to BYD's own battery business. , so that it can accelerate the pursuit of the Ningde era.




In addition to being self-sufficient, BYD is also actively exploring cooperation with other car companies. For example, in cooperation with Toyota to establish "BYD Toyota Electric Vehicle Technology Co., Ltd.", it is not difficult to imagine that new energy vehicles launched by Toyota will also use BYD-made batteries in the future.




However, it should be pointed out that if you do not compete with the giants, it does not mean that you are safe, and the competition among the lower-ranking companies is equally fierce. Compared with September, the ranking of the last few in the October list has undergone major changes, especially Honeycomb Energy has squeezed out Lishen Battery on the list. In such a complex market environment, why "squeeze it hard"?

According to the forecast of industry bodies, by 2025, the total demand for lithium-ion batteries for electrification in the global transportation sector and energy storage in the power sector will exceed 1.8TWh. Honeycomb Energy's goal is to occupy 25 percent of the global market share, and to challenge the global output target of 600GWh based on a 75 percent production utilization rate.

Up to now, the output of Honeycomb Energy under construction has reached 297GWh, including my country's Yangtze River Delta region, central China region, southwest region and four major production bases in Europe and Germany.




Facing the future, Honeycomb Energy will expand its average annual output by 100GWh from 2023 to 2025. In addition to the 30GWh planned in Germany in the early stage, it also plans to build 20GWh in India, South America and ASEAN, and then build 50GWh of overseas batteries. Yield layout.
